Quick help

  1. Connect.

    Open Audio devices to choose your microphone and speakers. Allow microphone access when asked. Start the mic at a low volume.

  2. Play.

    Load a YouTube link and press play. Drag the cassette’s left reel or progress slider to seek. Loop repeats the song. A–B reveals draggable start/end markers to repeat a section. YouTube may briefly buffer when a section restarts. Drag a panel’s Move handle to rearrange it, or click to swap.

  3. Shape your voice.

    Choose Studio for a little room, Live stage for a larger sound, or Karaoke for warmth and echo. Dry removes effects. Fine tune lets you adjust reverb and echo yourself. Presets affect your live voice and recordings. Drag the Voice and Music knobs up or right to turn them up; arrow keys also work.

  4. Record.

    Start your microphone, then click Record. For voice and music, choose this Mic Room tab and enable “Share tab audio.” Only audio is saved. Download your takes before leaving this page.

YouTube uses your system’s default sound output. Choose the same output in your device’s sound settings to hear voice and music together. Speaker selection and tab recording work best in desktop Chrome or Edge.

Keep microphones away from speakers to avoid feedback. Esc mutes your voice when the page has focus. Recording stops automatically after 30 minutes.
